Aphidem is an ancestry made for Draw Steel.

They are small humanoids with bug like features: four eyes, antennas, chitinous plates... Their most surprising particularity, however, is that they are all born already pregnant with an offspring that is mostly a clone of themselves. When their short lives are about to end, they give birth and the resulting Aphidem shares all their memories, skills and experiences, and basically continue the life of their parent.

In gameplay terms, most Aphidem's purchasable ancestry traits give strong benefits that weaken over time, such as a retainer that can't be healed or damage immunity that decreases every time you take damage. Then, when you respite with at least 5 victories, you can go through Rebirth to lose all your purchasable traits and buy them again.
